SNMP Trap - Reset via acknowledge

Post by mhooper »

Apologies if question is in wrong category. Newbie to nagios config and am trying to figure out how to set up a snmp trap that clears on acknowledgement. I have been able to set up the trap, but once it's received any further traps received are logged, but not generate notifications whether original was acknowledged or not.
thanks

Can you send a screenshot of your web interface? That'll help on a variety of fronts.

https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=77 is written for XI, but most of the principles still apply to Core.

The Nagios system will clear an acknowledgement if the state changes. The issue is if the SNMP Traps come in to the System with the same state (OK, Warning or Critical) but with different information for it's status, it will not clear the acknowledgement as the state is the same as the previous TRAP.
Even if you send multiple Critical TRAPS in a row, it will do the same thing, does that sound like that is happening?
