Exporting Nagios Core data to Excel

Post by neworderfac33 »

Good afternoon,

My Information Security team have just found a vulnerability with LibGD, which is required by NagiosGraph and PNP4Nagios (both of which I have installed and the latter of which I am using to generate source data for Grafana, which we're also evaulating)

They are asking me if there are any alternatives to the above graphing tools (even though I'm pretty certain that Nagios Core 4.3.2 itself would need LibGD, even if I didn't have NagiosGraph and PNP4Nagios).

One proposed solution is to export data to Excel, but having tried to Google the subject, I don't think it's possible for Core, plus it would require a heck of a lot of VBA to parse, sort and filter the data to produce anything meaningful.

Of course, if I knew that it wasn't possible to export from Core to Excel at all, this would make my life easier!

Who wants to make my Monday?

Thanks in advance

Depends on what data you need, but there are some CGIs available in Core:

It's all JSON but that can be easily enough converted to CSV:
