MRTG is a tool you would use to measure bandwidth of an ethernet port and not for CPU Usage, load, etc.

If the guests are running under VMWare, you can use this plugin to monitor CPU Usage, Memory, etc

Or you can install the NRPE agent on the remote server's and use the check_nrpe plugin on the nagios server to monitor the remote hosts.

Either of those should work for you.
