Error: Could not stat() command file '/var/nagios/rw/nagios.

Post by Hui »

Hello,
After installed and configured Nagios on my lab, I encountered an error as follows:
Error: Could not stat() command file '/var/nagios/rw/nagios.cmd'!
The external command file may be missing, Nagios may not be running, and/or Nagios may not be checking external commands.
An error occurred while attempting to commit your command for processing.

I checked selinux and found selinux is enabled on my lab. After I disabled the selinux, this error does not exist.
Selinux must be enabled on my lab since security request.
I want to know when selinux is enabled, how to resolved this issue?
Looking forward for your reply.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Selinux configuration for Nagios core 4.3.4

Post by Hui »

Hello,
When selinux is enabled, does Nagios Core 4.3.4 need extra configuration?
Will Nagios core 4.3.4 provide official configuration for selinux?
Thanks and Best regards,
Hui

We do not provide official SELinux configuration because much of that comes from the OS vendor. Here is a post related to your issue
