I have installed the Nagios Core on one Linux Box.
Can anyone tell me is there any limitation, that a single Nagios installation can monitor?
In Terms of the Servers or the Service.
If any document is available for the same?

Re: Limitation of the Nagios Core
There are too many variables at play to give you an easy answer.
Here are some questions that may help narrow it down:
1. Are you using ndo2db? (if so, then the XI numbers below start to become more relevant)
2. Are your checks passive or active?
3. What are the specs of your server?
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ements.pdf is written for XI, but it should serve as a bit of a guide. As you can see, we don't even try on large systems because it is so specific to the environment.

Re: Limitation of the Nagios Core
You have mentioned about the Hardware requirement about the Nagios XI, will it be applicable to the Nagios Core as well?
Also please find here with the specs of the Current server:
RAM: 2 GB
HDD: 73 GB
CPU: 2 Processor

You're looking at somewhere in the range of 300 checks, generally speaking. The XI info is just a guide. Depends on if you are using compiled plugins versus interpreted plugins, the speed of your HDD, processor, and RAM, you could see wildly different numbers. It's impossible to say with any certainty without testing in your environment, though as I mentioned, if you are using ndo, that makes the XI numbers have a little more weight.amitgupta19 wrote: Also please find here with the specs of the Current server:

Is Nagios calling out to a remote server at an interval? If so, it's active. If Nagios is just hanging out waiting for data, then it's passive. You could easily have a mix, but whoever set up the system would know the answer to that question best.
