Nagios Core 4 - Critical Sound

Post by cobraone »

it's a couple of days i'm testing and searching through internet but i do not have found a solution.

I've a nagios core 4.3.4 on RHEL 6.9 and some clients with Centos 6.9 with Firefox ESR Version 45.7

under /usr/local/nagios/share/media i''ve inserted 2 wav files (gave 777 just to be sure)

-rwxrwxrwx 1 nagios nagios 2695690 Jan 9 13:52 alarm.wav
-rwxrwxrwx 1 nagios nagios 52634 Jan 9 14:54 beep.wav

under cgi.cfg

cat cgi.cfg | grep -i wav
host_unreachable_sound=alarm.wav
host_down_sound=alarm.wav
service_critical_sound=alarm.wav
service_warning_sound=beep.wav
#service_unknown_sound=warning.wav
normal_sound=beep.wav

also media folder is 777

No media is played on Centos Workstation... the errors.log of the httpd presents no errors

ps: don't tell me to install nagios_checker because it is not anymore compatible with this version of firefox and i could not install
ps2: i could not use another browser, please avoid also this suggestion :)

@cobraone, Unfortunately, Nagios Core does not support playing sounds in OS.
There was a tutorial describing how to generate audio on a Raspberry PI, but this is all we have at this point. Here's a link:
