I have nagios core 4.3.4 running on a couple of CentOS 7 machines. I've been running nagios for years, with no issues, but, recently, on both servers I see the same problem.
Every several days, active checks seem to get stuck, while the date shown for "Next Scheduled Active Check" is in the past (days, hours, in the past). I can only make it go away by doing a full cleanup of nagios data, but that is not feasible on the long term. A simple restart of the nagios service fixes nothing.
Both machines run ntpd, so the time is always in sync, that should not be a problem.
Any ideeas? I'm seriously thinking of dropping nagios in favor of zabbix, or similar
Next Scheduled Active Check problems
Re: Next Scheduled Active Check problems
Hi @myth!
What was the last version of Nagios Core before upgrading to 4.3.4?
Is it all of the active checks that get stuck or only a few? Hosts or services?
Could you also show us the permissions on the status.dat file?
Thanks!

Code: Select all
ls -la /usr/local/nagios/var/status.dat
