Nagios Core not running.

hello all,
I have just newly setup a Nagios Core, Despite the success, I have prompted with error on the cgi: Nagios Core not running.
Please see below after the -v verify:
mint@mint ~ $ sudo su
[sudo] password for mint:
mint mint # /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
