Can we monitor the hardware firewall by nagios core Version. If yes then please share the steps. thanks in advance.

It is same configuration as we set configuration for the switch? I want to see only it is going to UP or DOWN.

If I read your question right, you can use the same plugin to monitor the status of an interface for both a firewall and a switch.
All you need to to is to setup the SNMP community string, version and select the interface number and it should work for either device.
