High Availability of Nagios Core

Post by charangandra »

Hi,

I am looking to implement HA for Nagios core.

I've two nagios core servers and using nrdp for passive checks. All the clients are sending passive check results to Nagios Server 1. In case Nagios Server 1 goes down or crashes I want to bring Nagios server 2 into action. is there any good document available to achieve this?

Thanks,

Hi @charangandra

What is your server setup? If you are running Nagios Core as a virtual machine with VMware VSphere, you could use the VMware High Availability solution.

Thanks for your response. I am using Azure cloud services for server setup. Can I still use the VMWare?

I don't believe VMware is supported on Azure, but it does look like Azure is its own configurations for High Availability deployments. I would suggest going to the Azure support for setup information. We currently support CentOS or Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 6, or 7.
