Is it possible to install and configure Nagios on an external server (Amazon, for example) and monitoring my internal network (LAN)?

Hi
@douglas,
Yes you can. You'll need to install Nagios Core on a CentOS or other linux system, and then install a monitoring agent, such as NCPA, on the hosts you'd like to monitor on the LAN.
Nagios Core Quick

Also, Nagios XI is free for small environments - up to 7 hosts.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi
@douglas,
You can also monitor without the installation of an agent using SNMP, SSH or WMI. But yes, as long as Nagios has a network connection to the remote hosts.
