What happens when you enable obsessing from Nagios core GUI

Post by edwardvanhaute »

Hello,

We are using host/service obsessing to forward check results to another Nagios instance.

I was wondering what happens when you click on for instance "Start Obsessing over this service" in the Nagios Core WebGUI.
Specifically, I'm wondering if this change persists through nagios reloads/restarts.
From my testing it seems to persist through a restart, but I would like to be sure nonetheless.
Nagios core versions we are using: 4.3.4 and 4.4.2.

These persist across restarts/reload unless you set the retain_state_information directive to 0 in the nagios.cfg
