Advice on Nagios installation structure

Post by SpAiK »

Hello, I'm new to Nagios and we need to monitor an Unix server that is outside our network (on client). This Unix server does not have internet access but it is connected to a Win server to which we can access through Citrix. So we are assuming we would need to install Nagios server at that Win server and access its monitoring frontend through Citrix as we do now.

Is there any other possibility of configuring a Nagios server on our side and be able to monitor that Unix server through a network tunneling or similar?

I would say most companies that need to do what you describe setup a VPN between the sites allowing access from the Nagios server to the remote site.
