Monitor multiple servers with 1 NRPE server?

Hi All,

I have been trying to monitor multiple devices on a remote site with NRPE, acording to the nagios website you can set it up so that one nrpe can monitor multiple devices.

i need to monitor the switches and some more servers but dont want to open loads of ports nad install nrpe on all the servers as this will not be good for security (VPN is not an option)

I have managed to get nagios to work with the NRPE on remote site but cant get it to work with other devices im not sure what im doing wrong.

i am not sure how it is possible to tell the config file to look at the NRPE server ip address but look for the device that we are trying to monitor also.

help would be appreciated as the instructions online for NRPE are not very usefull.
