How to check why mailq alerts are coming for nagios server

Post by grayloglearn »

Hi Team,

From last one week we observed that our mailq alerts are getting more. How to resolve this from nagios end. What are the steps we need to check from nagios end. We are using the postfix to send the mails. Later 30 min again mailq alerts are less showing.

I am using the mailq command to check the queue but at that time it was free.

Hi @grayloglearn,

It's likely Postfix is having issues delivering mail due to DNS, network or other. I would start by checking the mail log at /var/log/maillog for errors.
