upgrade PHP 5.6 on the Nagios core 4.4.2 server

Post by vennkatraman »

I got a security vulnerability audit for PHP version on the nagios Core 4.4 server. They advised to upgrade to the latest version of the PHP

Currently i have PHP 5.4.16 (cli) (built: Apr 12 2018 19:02:01) on a CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 (Core) server

1. Can i upgrade PHP on the Nagios core server?
2. What version is compatible?

FYI.
Audit ticket says the below:

PHP Versions Prior to 5.6.10/5.5.26/5.4.42 having Multiple Vulnerabilities detected on port 443 over TCP.
Users are advised to upgrade to the latest version of the PHP. For more information, please refer to the <A HREF="http://www.php.net/" TARGET="_blank">PHP Web site</A>.
