Nagios how to configure properly

Post by tmvision »

Hi,

I have a little trouble understanding the logic of a nagios configuration.

We have passive hosts configured and services with notifications enabled.

However. When a host goes offline nothing happens. The services are just fine with a last check of a few days ago. Why?

In this case you usually want to setup freshness checks that will kick off if you do not get a passive result in a timely mannor.

Here is a guide on freshness
