cant configure nagios to sent notications to my email

Hi

i have nagios 4.4.5 core on Centos8- everything working perfect! super cool monitoring system!

the problem that i dont know where to put my send from mail and where to put the receive mailbox

i tried with postfix\sendmail\mailx etc- but nothing work for me

i just need to know where to put the right configuration

the email that will send the notification: smtp.012.net.il
the mailbox i want to recive the notification is : sc@itcare.co.il

the sender namd- dosent metter nagiosadmin\nagiosmonitor\etc

please help me with that issue

Nice! I haven't heard of too many users using Cent 8 with Nagios Core, thanks for the feedback.

It sounds like you want to setup postfix to relay to an external SMTP server? If so, check out the guide(s) below.

I tired install Nagios on ubuntu 18.04 and I installed and configure ssmtp

after I configure the file- I tried to sent mail from it- and it Succeeded

now I cant figure out how to make the Nagios send the notification (I didn't understand much with the article you posted

please if you have other easy way to accomplish my task- it will be amazing

Ok- i opened the article you sent - i will try this method

but- i need to understand something:

i want that all the alerts will be send to this email: SC@itcare.co.il

where i need to add this address to get ther all the alerts? (windows.cfg?conntact.cfg? other place? what file i need to configure with this specipict email address?

Yes, contact.cfg is typically where you set the email address for a contact. Once you have a contact associated with an email address you would configure your hosts and services to notify this contact.
