Custom Service notification

Post by apventer »

I have a custom service notification to monitor OSPF links.
When I test it by hand, it seems to work OK.
When I send a notification from the web page, or when the service notification triggers, I receive a HOST notification, even though the log says SERVICE notification sent:

Log:

Host Service Type Time Contact Notification Command Information
rtr-su-ukwanda-saldanha.su.ac.za OSPF_SU_Saldanha_Neotel CUSTOM (CRITICAL) 07-09-2020 11:30:57 andries service-notify-by-email CRITICAL - 10.203.1.178 is not in neighbour table.

rtr-su-ukwanda-saldanha.su.ac.za OSPF_SU_Saldanha_Neotel CUSTOM (CRITICAL) 07-09-2020 10:56:22 andries service-notify-by-email CRITICAL - 10.203.1.178 is not in neighbour table.

EMail received:
***** Nagios *****

Notification Type: CUSTOM
Host: rtr-sun-ukwanda-saldanha.su.ac.za
State: UP
Address: 14.23.12.199
Info: FPING OK - 14.23.12.199 (loss=0%, rta=0.100000 ms)

Date/Time: Thu Jul 9 11:31:21 SAST 2020

How can this be explained? I really need to be informed of service state changes...

Regards
Andries

By the way, I am running Nagios Core 4.4.6 now. The problem occurred in 4.4.5 when I reported it. Also happens in 4.4.6...
