Instance of Nagios Core in MS Azure Cloud...

Post by Engineer1974 »

Folks,

I've built out a new Nagios Core 4.x server in our MS Azure tenant and the system has two IP addresses assigned to it. An internal IP that's available on our intranet and an external IP that's exposed to the Internet. The purpose of this box is to be an external monitor for our most critical on-prem externally facing applications and alert us to those outages when they occur. Long story short, I'd like to be 100% sure that Nagios Core is only using the external IP for its monitors and not have traffic leakage across the internal IP so we're able to reliably detect an external connectivity issue for our applications, but still maintain intranet connectivity if possible for management purposes. Is there a recommended way to do this? Thanks !
