Predictive Monitoring

Post by echonoc »

Hi All,

I would like to know if there is a way to have a predictive monitoring on Nagios XI. The scenario is this:

Regarding to services like CPU, Memory, etc, sometimes we have high usage of these services since there is an activity ongoing every day at the same time. What we would like to do is to find a way that Nagios understands that if a service is high same day, same time like other days, ignores the alerts.

Is that possible?

Hi,

Usually, if there's another activity going on that will cause unwanted notifications on certain services, the recommended option is to set up recurring downtime on those services. This will suppress the notifications during those periods.

Configuring Downtime In Nagios XI

The Multistacked Performance Graph feature in Graph Explorer is handy for generating a performance graph of multiple services to analyze any correlations and periods.

Hope that helps answer some of your questions.
