Hi Guys,

Nagios core 4.1.1 suddenly having an issue when restarting the nagios service with the below error:
Error: Could not find any hostgroup matching 'linux-server' (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/windowserver.cfg', starting on line 14)

I checked the templates.cfg and the linux-servers hostgroup exist there.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks
JunG

I checked the templates.cfg and the linux-servers hostgroup exist there.
But the error is looking for linux-server singular, not linux-servers plural?

You'd also need to be sure that templates.cfg is included in your main nagios.cfg file -- either via a cfg_file or cfg_dir directive:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... gmain.html

@mcapra,

thanks for the reply.
"But the error is looking for linux-server singular, not linux-servers plural?" sorry it's a typo error it should be 'linux-
servers.

The template.cfg is defined in nagios.cfg.

Thanks.
