Hi ,
Do we need to install a linux agent in a DNS Server ( if it is running in linux) in order to monitor all the DNS queries and Performance of the server?
Can you please help me to understand what port need to be opened in Nagios server to the DNS server ?
Thanks
Luke

Re: DNS server monitoring
Hi Luke,
For monitoring typical server metrics, CPU, memory, I/O, it will be easier to use an agent like NCPA or NRPE. Is there a specific plugin you are planning to use for checking the DNS server itself? If not take, a look on the Nagios Exchange for one the meets your requirements.
