How do I fix message Host Down CRITICAL rta nan, lost 100%?

Post by ziopex »

I added a service from Configuration Wizards to monitor an ldap server, and this gives me a "Host Down: CRITICAL - serverX: rta nan, lost 100%" alert while the ldap service is working correctly. I think the problem is that I ping the server but this is not reachable by ping from my subnet, is it possible to fix this problem or at least hide the alert?

Hi,

Thank you for joining the Nagios Community forum!

Since the service is up, I suspect the server has pings disabled and I would check the settings on the server. Also, you can easily disable notifications for the host check-in the Core Configuration Manager to avoid any unwanted notifications.
