Send SNMP traps to remote host on a custom port

Post by sjayaswa »

Hello, I am using Nagios® Core™ 4.4.2 and working on to send SNMP traps to another host in the same network on port 8436 rather than default 162. The only port open at the destination is 8436. Any help what changes do I need to make in Nagios or VM itself would be much appreciated.

Hello,
We are also trying to send snmp traps of the hardware issues to a non-default port.
Have you tried to type a colon and then the needed port number right after the chosen hostname / IP address?

I use the SNMP Trap Sender component in Nagios XI. A little web searching suggests that it should work in core as well. I send traps to custom ports.
