Forward SNMP traps to a remote Nagios xi/core

Post by lukedevon »

Hi,

How to forward snmp traps/alerts to another remote nagios core or xi via nagios core ?

Monitoring devices/servers ---> Nagios core ---->Nagios XI /core

cant we forward the snmp traps via tcp to the remote nagios xi?

also please help to understand, is there a way to forward snmp traps to nagios log server via nagios core?

Thanks
Luke

Snmptrapd can forward traps as it receives them.
If you want to send traps for each event in Nagios, you can use the SNMP trap sender component.
Of course you need to define the hosts and the trap receiver service on the remote Nagios. If you forward traps to NLS you'll need to define an input to handle the traps. NLS documentation says it can handle traps.
