The WMI query had problems - Windows Server 2022

Post by sanagios »

We recently tried to add a WINDOWS SERVER 2022 server to our Nagios monitoring, but we are getting the error "UNKNOWN - The WMI query had problems"
Error Nagios x Win 2022
Error Nagios x Win 2022
We review the accesses and everyone is in agreement, just like other servers that work in monitoring.

I found the log below on the win 2022 server, the user and the IP in the log are from the monitoring user and the monitoring server's IP, but I don't know how to go about increasing the authentication level or how this will help with the functioning of the monitoring in this server.
Error in server 2022
Error in server 2022
Someone who is also having this problem to monitor windows server 2022 or any help is welcome.

Tks

There was quite a bit of chatter on this issue in another thread:

More in a separate thread in the customer support section of the forum:

Post from the check_wmi_plus plugin maintainers on the issue:

Unfortunately, no solution beyond "switch to NCPA" or writing your own WMI based client on something like impacket. This is fundamentally a problem with the wmic client on Linux.
