Hello All,
I am using nagios core 3.4.1, I have an FTP alert configured, resta checks its authentication by means of a username and password.
The command used is check_ftp_alt
The issue I have is that lately the alert stays in critical status with the message: Could not login as FTP user na_na
After a while it changes to: Could not passively connect with FTP to IP Address(x.x.x.x):
This is another error that often appears: ould not passively download file check_ftp_alt_testfile.txt after uploading
This lasts for a long time and then it can be recovered and changed to "OK" status.
But it lasts longer in critical status.
The alert is configured on a Windows 2003 server.
All the teams have already reviewed it and they mention that everything is fine on their side. What is problem with Nagios.
Could you help me to know what can cause this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

What do you see when you run the check manually while there's an alert?

@gormank, Thanks for answering. To execute the command it would be like this: check_ftp_alt name server or ip address
This must be on a specific route?
Regards.

Re: Alert of a monitoring to FTP
Run the command exactly as defined in the service when it's alerting.
