Nagios Core SNMP Performance Checks

Post by cameron.gray »

I am running Nagios Core 4.4.7 on Ubuntu Server 22.04. My windows servers are being monitored with NSClient++ and I'd like to monitor Linux servers and network appliances using SNMP. I have a "check_snmp" plugin located at /usr/loca/nagios/libexec/ however I am having trouble using it for anything more than ping. I am trying to add a few performance checks for CPU, Memory, and possibly disk usage. I followed the instructions in the (probably outdated) article below but none of my checks returned anything. Been working on this on/off for a couple weeks now but it's becoming more of a priority so I am now reaching out for help. Please let me know if you can give me a push in the right direction or if you have some sample checks I can try.

Thank you,
