Configuring check_snmp service in nagios getting failed

Post by svenkatesh5 »

We are trying to send and receive snmp trap alerts via check_Snmp service in nagios-core. We configured in cent os. Still not getting traps in logs as well as console. I have attached the nagios console screenshot for your reference. We are trying to add data domain device and storage device to nagios but we are not getting any traps when sent from those devices. Kindly let us know if there is any easier way to configure and troubleshoot to fix this issue.

nagios.logs:

For one, you're confusing an active snmp check and the passive receiving of traps. Not the same.

It looks like one snmp service has a syntax error since it says usage.
The other says no oid specified so same issue.

You need to set up the remote hosts to send traps to nagios, then nagios needs a passive service defined to set status on hosts after snmptrapd and snmptt process traps.
