AIX 5.2 monitoring through SNMP, No NRPE

Post by nishith »

Hello,

As I am unable to install NRPE on AIX 5.3, thinking to monitor IBM AIX Servers using SNMP with Nagios Core.

So, I would like to know how to monitor

IBM Server RAID (Hardware & Software)
Total physical memory modules in IBM Server
Individual CPU Utilization in IBM Server
Total mounted Hard Drives in IBM Server

Note: SNMP is enabled in IBM AIX OS.

You should be able to do this with snmp just fine. You will need to enable snmp access on the AIX machine, install the mib on your nagios server, and setup a check with check_snmp or similar check. This guide may be just what you are looking for!
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.
