Nagios real Agentless ?

Post by Prutser »

Hello,

Is it possible for Nagios to work real agentless ?
I've been looking at the following site:
http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Pl ... ns/details

But if i understand things correctly there has still a service on a Windows host to be installed? That's not agentless....

I hope i'am wrong ;]

Thanx in advance

Nagios can work without an agent for any information that your hosts make available to it through SNMP.

And if you would want to read the WMI of Windows hosts, is it necessary to use a agent on the Windows machine ?

I've never worked with it myself, but a quick search turned up this page that looks useful: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 85%29.aspx
