I add my Layer 3 Force 10 S25 switch to Nagios via its public IP, and it loads and Nagios enumerates the ports correctly. However, as soon as I click Finish, he switch receives SNMP authentication errors, and the port status in nagios time out on each port even though the bandwidth does not. We have two SNMP communities and servers on the switch, and our auxiliary SNMP monitoring system reads the port status without errors. I've spoken to Force10 support, and they have verified that the configuration is fine.
Thanks!

Re: SNMP on a public IP
Are you using the switch and router wizard for this configuration? If so which version are you on presently? Admin->Manage Wizards->Switch wizard

Came across this post while going through the forum looking for similar issues to what we are facing - Port bandwidth is shown properly but not the status. Please see: http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtop ... lit=wizard

While similar in issue, I don't as of yet, think that these are related at all.

Re: SNMP on a public IP
I am using the Network Switch / Router wizard, version 2.0.6
Re: SNMP on a public IP
First off let's try upgrading to 2.1.2: http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... rd/details
Download the zip and upload in the Admin -> Manage Config Wizards page (no need to unzip).
