Nagios on startup

Post by arnoldcr8 »

I'm running ubuntu server 13 and I was wondering how to get nagios to load on startup?

I had a power outage here a month ago and just realized that while I could access the nagios page, the data was old and nothing had been updated. For what its worth, nagios was already under /etc/init.d/

Service is up now but I had to rerun the nagios -d nagios.cfg file manually.

Also when I run service --status-all, it shows a [ - ] by Nagios. Is that normal?

OK I think here is the problem with the startup per the boot.log:
status: Unknown Job: nagios
/etc/rcS.d/S99nagios: 73: Test: false: unexpected operator
$Starting nagios: /etc/rcS.d/S99nagios: 79: /etc/rcS.d/S99nagios: daemon: not found
Any ideas?

Can you post your Nagios rc startup script?
