Checking Windows services - successful experiences?

Post by JulianD »

Hello,

Does someone have successful experience with checking windows services?
I have been checking a few out but not been successful.

Has someone got this working to their satisfaction?

I need to check how many of a named service is running (how many does not really mater) and how long each is running for as more than 5 minutes is a problem.

thanks,

I'm guessing there are millions of Windows boxes being monitored by Nagios at this point.

So knowing what you're trying to accomplish and how you've approached it so far would be the first step in helping you do what you want.

Yes, please show us an example of a check command you are running from the Nagios server, and what is it outputting that is incorrect? Showing the command being ran from an SSH session on the nagios server, and it's output would be most beneficial.
