Assign Contact Groups to Host or Service groups?

Post by TBT »

Is there a way to assign a Contact Group to Host & Service Group?

eg: Host-Group-X is monitoring a subset of network elements. I'd like the individuals within a specific Contact Group to receive email notifications only when Host-Group-X is affected, no other group notifications.

Perhaps Escalations would be used here.

I'd prefer contact groups.

So wouldn't you create a host or service escalation which uses that specific host group and contact group?

I'll wait to see what Nagios has to say about it. Thanks.

Yeah, unfortunately you can't add a contact group to a host or service group, you would have to use an escalation type method, or stick to applying contacts to individual hosts/services. A way to easily do this en masse is through Configure > Bulk Modifications > Add a Contact.
