Notifications Enabled - Difference between On and Skip

Good afternoon.

What is the difference between "On" and "Skip" in the Notifications Enabled section. I can see Skip sends notifications and it's the default when the wizard is used to add a device. I can't find any explanation of the difference.

When you select "skip", the values will be inherited from the template that this object is using. A template could be added to another template, so you may have a few layers in place. You can open each one in the CCM and review the alert settings in it.
