Moving NagiosXI to another server

Post by RockerMan »

Good day

Dear All,
Help please, need to move NagiosXI (Nagios XI 2012R2.9, Nagios® Core™ Version 4.0.4) to another server (Nagios XI 2014R1.5, Nagios® Core™ Version 4.0.8). Want to save when transferring all long-term data about hosts and services. The new server is already installed, but it is clean, with no data. The old server running for quite some time, had accumulated a lot of statistics. Has about 200 hosts and 700 services. Prompt please algorithm server migration to a new place and what commands are used in this case. I would be very grateful for all the help.

Best Regards,
Valery

Have you looked at using the backup script?
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios-XI.pdf
Just a note, you will need to run the ./upgrade script from the nagios XI install tarball after restoring your backup as the backup will restore the old version of the XI web files.

Did everything according to the above script.
Then he went to the /tmp/nagiosxi and launched ./upgrade - all safely completed. Restart nagios, visited the site at the new address. Hosts and services appeared to viewing only at http://<new_IP>/nagios, but the address http://<new_IP>/nagiosxi/ Views/ Service Detail and Hostgroup Overview instead of displaying the hosts and services, writes "Your session has timed out." Why? Looked in the "Configure-Core Config Manager-Hosts/Services has, hosts and services are there, but do not appear in the monitoring http://<new_IP>/nagiosxi.

Topic can be closed. Question resolved. In the sent dear mr. Avrist script ever written. And to those items that I did not open, began to work, you need to manually edit - Host Detail/Service Detail - Edit View - Change of IP address to the new- and everything will show.

Thanks for the help Mr. Abrist
