I didn't do that.

If I do that will it override any other notifications sent to contacts when issues occur ?

It will if that is what you tell it to do. You can have more than one recipient of notifications. Review this: http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/nagi ... tions.html for more information.

Will do some more testing and make sure it works as we want ...

Ok tested and all working.

I wrote a python script instead, but does what I need. It disables all checks on both the host and its services when the downtime starts and then enables them all back up again with the downtime ends.
