Nagios XI or Cacti for bandwidth statistics?

Post by rainbow_ya »

Hi,

I want to know the bandwidth for some very heavy servers on a daily basis. I see that Cacti is included on Nagios XI. But when using snmp_check_int.pl there is nice graphs created on "performance graphs" tab.

My question is, does the Nagios XI's builtin performance graphs show the same as Cacti? Is there any case I should use Cacti instead of Nagios XI's builtin graphs?

Thanks in advance.

Its really a matter of preference. Some people prefer to use Cacti for SNMP monitoring and performance graphs. The perf graphs in XI should basically be the same, as similar data is being monitoring and graphed. Most people we've spoken with prefer just using Nagios, as the two tools have many overlapping features.
