nagios user rights & permissions

Post by gregg_hughes_ISC »

Good afternoon, all!

I installed NRPE on a few test servers and found that the install created new nagios users that apparently have shell privileges. My management wants to know if this is true and if there is a way to substitute the installed nagios user with a user controlled through Active Directory. If not, has anyone worked on mitigating this vulnerability in test or production?

Thanks to all for looking!

Never mind -RTFM.....the nagios user shell for an Ubuntu install is /bin/false - no login privileges....

Thanks!

You are correct, are we ok to mark this as resolved and lock the topic?
