Setting up notifications
How do I set up notifications for servers when they have critical issues. I'd like SMS and email. I have the SMTP server already set up in Nagios? I must be missing this in the Nagios interface somewhere?
Re: Setting up notifications
Are you adding your hosts/services by using Configuration Wizards? At the end of each Wizard there is a 'Notifications Settings' section.
Be sure to add the appropriate contacts there.

Re: Setting up notifications
Is there a way I can test my SMS settings. There is a test email but I don't see anything for testing SMS?
Re: Setting up notifications
After you set up SMS texting notifications, nagios is going to send alert emails to %cellnumber%@%provider%
Where %cellnumber% is your 10-digit cell phone number, and %provider% is your SMS providers email gateway.
As long as you have email alerts set up and working properly, you should be good to go. To test this, you could intentionally trigger a critical alert/acknowledge some problem, and Nagios will send you alerts as you have defined.
