AD and indexes issues

Post by oxyma »

Hi we are experiencing multiple problems with nagioslog server.
The AD/LDAP import doesn't take more then one user from the same CN or security group
Manually adding a user that would be in the same group as an existing results in an error (Could not create the user.)

The indexes are not being removed we have currently 197 indexes (1 index a day). The config says it should delete indexes older then 180 days.
Because of disk usage we are currently deleting indexes from the "index overview page"

What version of Nagios Log Server are you running? We just released version R2.1, which may resolve some of the issues you've described. You can find the new version here:

Code: Select all

https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagios-log-server/2015/nagioslogserver-2015r2.1.tar.gz
The deletion of older indices works for me on the latest version of Nagios Log Server. Update and let me know what you find out.

We have 2.1 installed already..
The following settings are in place:

Optimize Indexes older than 2 days
Disable Bloom Filter Cache older than 1 days
Close indexes older than 14 days
Delete indexes older than 180 days
Repository to store backups in You must first create a repository on the right.
Delete backups older than You must first create a repository on the right.
Enable Maintenance and Backups Yes

At this time we have 186 Indices.
We removed indices every few days to keep them between 180/190.

Hey,

What does the Command Subsystem page say?
I also had issue with jobs not running some time ago. After resetting all jobs, my issues were fixed. Check this thread:

Thanks the jobs had hashed names after a reset and rerun (now) the indices are being deleted...
Hope the AD will be fixed soon as well.
Creating an AD user through User Management just gives the error "Could not create User"
Importing a user through LDAP/AD Integration and selecting the users to be created doesn't show any error.

I'm not experiencing the same AD problems that you are. Please post a screenshot of both your defined AD Server, like so:
