adding and removing network ports services

Post by bosecorp »

we use MRTG to collect status and bandwidth about network switch ports. the challenge I have is when I remove a server connected to a port, I have to delete all its Nagios services including switch ports status and bandwidth.
If we reuse that port, we have to re-run the wizard again for all the ports, and this will bring all, including disabled and down port. Then remove about 200 ports services.
Is there a way to work with the port individually or match services to physical ports then deactivate or activate that port only.

You don't need to use the wizard to add the port, you could copy an existing one and change the values in the CCM or am I misunderstanding what you are trying to do?
