Email Alerting Frequency Query

Post by neworderfac33 »

Good afternoon,

Is it possible to make Nagios Core only send out the first email alert for any given issue it encounters, until it is resolved?

For example if a diskspace threshold was exceeded at 00:10, then the issue was rectified at 09:15, then breached again at 16:00 and rectified at 16:40, I would only want one alert email to go out between 00:10 and 09:15, and only one between 16:00 and 16:40, rather than one every five or ten minutes, or at whatever I'd set my frequency to.

It would be the next/first scheduled alert that would need to go out for each breach so, in the above scenario, the alert would go out at (for example) 00:15 and 16:05.

Does that make sense?

Have a good weekend all, and, as always, thank you for your valuable support.

Setting notification_interval to 0 for that host/service will send out only one notification for a given problem state.
