Service notifications based upon host contacts

I just have really basic general service notifications and host notifications setup for all my hosts. I have a few hosts that I want another person to get notifications for those hosts and the services on those hosts. Since I am using generic services across all of the hosts, will I need to re-create those services got the hosts I want to have the notifications go to another person too? Hosts were not a problem, I was able to add them as a contact, but I didn't want to just add contacts to the services, b/c then it would be notifying these people for these services even on hosts I don't need them to get... Is there any sort of inheritance I can setup so that if I add them to a host they would get notifications for all services on that host?

There is implied inheritance, but it's overridden by the service so that won't work for you. The alternative would be to remove ALL contacts for the services, then apply them at the host and that *should* work for you. Note that the service will have to be completely void of contacts for that inheritance to apply, including those derived from upstream templates.

A better solution would be properly set up templates, but I think the above is the answer you're looking for.

Perfect! That did the trick... Yea, I figured I could create templates for each service type, etc... but we have such a simple setup here I was hoping to keep it simple. Thanks!
