New setup problems

Post by mwrsw »

So far I haven't had much luck with setting up Nagios core so I decided to try the VMWare machine of Nagios XI.

First issue thats occuring is on the virtual machine, I'm getting an out of memory error:

Out of memory: kill process 2207 (fping) score 196132 or a child
Killed process 2207 (fping) vsz:784528kB, anon-rss:712332kB, file-rss:156kB

All I'm trying to do is monitor a single Cisco 3825 Router, and for whatever reason Nagios keeps saying no ports were detected on the 'switch'. It says underneath to login as root and run a command to get the output to help figure out the issue, but I can't even log into the terminal as root as I have no idea what the password is for root.

The default password for root is 'nagiosxi'. Also out of memory is strange, did you specify the amount of RAM the VM had access to?
