Re: Graphs not loading and log files not updating

Post by tgriep »

Can you run the following command as root on the nagios system and post the output here?

Code: Select all

ps -ef
I would like to see if the the processes are running correctly.
Thanks

It looks like someone implemented pnp4nagios on your system and that is causing the issues. Any chance you can remove it?

It was probably Past-Me - he's always getting me into jams like this, but my memory's such that I never remember. I'll do some digging on pnp4nagios on Monday and see if I can get it working. If not, I'll try removing it.

Thanks!

Okay, I'm back in business. I didn't realize that NagiosXI already includes pnp4nagios, or at least some aspects of it, and trying to install over top of it breaks the graphs.

I was in a limbo where if I tried to remove it, it would tell me that it wasn't installed, and if I tried to install it I would get dependency errors. I was able to restore the default configuration by running ./install in the <nagiosxi install>/subcomponents/pnp directory. The perfdata files are now being processed and I'm starting to get graph information once again.

Thanks to all for your help!

Different versions of pnp4nagios as it's built a specific way in the process with XI. Glad to see this resolved though!

I'll close this thread out now, but feel free to open a new one if you ever need assistance in the future!
