Apply Configuration never completes

Post by ChathamDaleJ »

I have rolled back to previous snapshots.
I have repaired databases.
I have rebooted.
I've pulled hair, but I'm guessing that really is unproductive.

I'm hoping we don't have to restore a mysqldump.

Actually, eventually it does. I think this is the reason:

-rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 1.1G Jan 11 12:14 /var/lib/mysql/nagiosxi/xi_meta.MYD

40 days since we instantiated the machine. Rebooted about an hour ago.

Is Apply configuration working now that you've rebooted?

The large xi table file still exists: -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 1.1G Jan 12 04:17 xi_meta.MYD

It is sitll at the very least taking an inordinate amount of time for an apply to finish.

I suspect that this table will not refill if I truncate it.

EDIT:
In desparation, I truncated this table. It is rebuilding as new info is added, doesn't seem to be critical to checking hosts/services.

But, apply is still taking an inordinate amount of time. Considering truncating services table and importing from /usr/local/nagios/etc/services/*

I will wait untilyou weigh in though.

EDIT:
this is quickly approaching urgent. Do you have any idea what is going on?

Was there any circumstance that seemed to correspond with your Apply Configurations taking a large amount of time to complete?

Are you currently a customer of ours? Posting in the General Support board typically reduces out response time. If you're a customer and this is urgent, I strongly recommend you send an email to [email protected] so that we could get a remote session going - troubleshooting this over the forum could take several days due to the ambiguity of the problem. Let me know if you need any help with the above process.

When you send in your ticket, please be sure to reference this forum post and request a remote session and a technician will get one scheduled with you. Thank you!
