Multi-tenancy for contacts hirarchy (TREE)

Post by ManojNamdev »

Dear Team,

As we have once customer esteemed customer looking for multi-tenancy in NagiosXI.

We have configured multi-tenancy for one user who is able see their hosts whenever he logged in. Its done and working fine.

But my query is : Can we see all hosts which we have configured in one user's contact group will automaticaly a part of parent user...

Example:

We have 3 (LAYER3) users SHO-1,SHO-2,SHO-3

we have 2 (LAYER2) users ES-1,ES-2 (EC-1 should be able to see SHO-1 and SHO-2 hosts, EC-2 should be able to see SHO-3 hosts)

We have 1 (LAYER1) user DC-1 ( DC-1 user should see all EC-1 and EC-2 systems in their dashboard.

If i updated SHO-1 contact in 5 hosts (from bulk modification) and we updated SHO-2 contact in other 5 hosts again

IS it again required to add all 10 hosts for ES-1 and 5 hosts for ES-2 users ?

Do we have any any tool or component so we will achive above requirement.

Please suggest...

Thanks in advance

I will update image ASAP

This is not currently part of the user system.

My suggestion would be to use hostgroups. That way when you add hosts that you only want certain users to be able to see, they can just be added to a hostgroup instead of needing to change anything else.

Dear Hsmith,

Thanks a lot, as suggested we are working on hostgroup and managing contacts from bulk modification.

Thanks
